The Big Move.
So it’s 2010.
New year, new beginnings.
Between January 1st to now, I have already had to pack up my belongings and say goodbye to Charlotte, North Carolina and hello to Clarksville, TN, endure blustering, single digit winds, experience a tiny off-roading adventure in the old Honda Civic (snow and ice were involved), and to top it all off, I even enjoyed a nice, cold, snow blanketed 2 mile hike up to my soon to be house located in the small “southern pride” town of Bumpus Mills, TN. One adventure after another. AND I LOVE IT! I’m sure there is much more to come and I say, bring it on!
Currently, I am living in a small hotel room with the boyfriend. Packed full with just about all of our belongings…including a 46 inch TV. We’re in the process of getting a house. And not just any house, but a lake house. It’s beautiful. So I can’t really complain about Bumpus Mills, TN. It really isn’t that bad. It’s kinda cute actually. While waiting for our loans to get approved and the negotiations to go through, I’ve been on the hunt for jobs. Nothing very interesting at the moment, but then again, I haven’t been looking too hard just yet. However, I have noticed that I am really starting to miss having my studio space, MAC, and drawing table. Not to mention my B-cat, friends and family. At least I know one person here in TN - and even though we’ve been living in a 20X30 room, we are still managing to enjoy each other and explore the area around us. Paducah, KY had an AWESOME art district and Clarksville’s is growing. Nashville isn’t too far away either. I’m hoping that as soon as my studio is up and running, I’ll have the inspiration to get back to what I do best. Cannot wait.
To do list
- get house
- move in, (move in the b-cat)
- get a puppy (aw)
- set up studio
- create, create, create
- get a job…I guess.
- invite the friends and family to visit the awesome house.
- enjoy my new life in Tennessee - Whooooo!
Summer fun!

Working on some cards

Making an etched copper bracelet.
Still keeping myself busy. When I’m not working or reading, ugh dare I say it? The Twilight series, then I’ll pick up a pen, brush, or file and get to work on something productive. I’m also working on a series of crocheted “monster” things. They’re stuffed. They’re cute. They’re ridiculous. But I’m cool with that. Oh and I’m trying to teach myself how to properly use a sewing machine. whoo - Wish me luck! Sam and I are also in the process of setting up a studio. I’ve been stocking up on metalsmithing supplies. This is going to be exciting.
Successful Gallery Opening!
Dysfunctional Family
APRIL 13, 2009 @ 5 PM
Myself and 7 of my very talented peers had a very successful gallery opening on April 13th. We had many attendees with many compliments. Cameras were flashing. People were mingling. Live music was playing. And fun was being had. Although each and every one of the artists involved in the show was completely different from the next, we somehow managed to pull it all together and put on a very fun, silly, serious, cohesive show. It was an awesome learning experience and an amazing way to display illustrational works.

Testin’ out the post…
Hey guuuuuuys!
Just trying to figure all this out!
